Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here!
No matter how you landed here–Facebook, Pinterest, Google Search, email, or a friend’s recommendation–there is something I have to tell you…
You are amazing!
That might’ve caught you off guard because we’ve never met, but the truth is I know you are here for a reason.
Whether you are a parent, caregiver, or military spouse, I know you want to enjoy a peaceful and happy home that isn’t just surviving.
You want a home that is thriving!
You want smoother days.
You want stronger relationships.
You want less stress and more joy.
I mean, who doesn’t want those things?
But here’s the thing…
Smoother days, stronger relationships and more joy won’t come from a perfectly obedient child, or from moving to the perfect city, or from your spouse learning to “read your mind.”
Because…ultimately, those aren’t practical solutions.
Learning to thrive in parenting or military life comes from a conscious effort put forth by you to set the right habits into action. That’s why I created The Military Wife and Mom blog.
To help you develop the exact habits you need to thrive in parenting or military life. It doesn’t matter which area describes you best because the blog is divided into two sections.
And if both describe you, well then, all the better!
So, grab your favorite drink, a comfy chair, and stick around for a while. Each time you visit this blog you’ll find that…
It’s a community.
This blog started in 2014, and since then, millions–yes, millions–of people just like you have stopped by again and again to discover actionable tips, entertaining stories, and useful advice.
You’ll also discover a rapidly growing Facebook community with 20,000+ fans.
Most blogs are all about one person’s experience with their own families or the families they work with. Which is totally valid. And I definitely share my own personal stories, too.
But here’s what makes my blog different: I love to share tips from books, scientific-research and tips from other wives and moms too. This blog is about collectively sharing proven, positive tips for how you can handle your top life challenges.
This is a blog that will help you find common sense solutions to every day problems that are important to YOU.

A few things about me…
I’m Lauren! A critical care nurse turned stay-at-home-mom. After spending 8 years caring for patients in the ICU, my husband and I decided staying at home was a smart move for our family.
Turns out, I really missed working! I started this blog shortly after my stay-at-home mom journey, and it is now a full-time business for our family.
I took my nursing background and experience with helping others, and I quickly applied it to helping others thrive in both parenting and military life!
I grew up as a regular ‘ole Midwest girl. After graduating from college, I spent several years working in the Midwest before meeting my future life partner and best friend at a wedding. In 2011 I took a leap of faith, moved my life to coastal North Carolina to be with my husband and started living the military life.
Moving was certainly one of the best decisions I ever made, and I’ve grown so much since then. I became a mom in the summer of 2013 when my son came into the world. Since then we added a daughter to our family in the fall of 2015. We are now a family of four.
We currently live overseas in Japan as a military family! As much as we miss our friends and family back in the U.S., we love and adore the experience of living in another country and culture.
I welcome you to connect with me via my Facebook page or by joining one of our thriving the Military Wife and Mom communities! Let’s do this!
